Newark-on-Trent has many fine antique shops and is visited by many thousands of people each year from all over the world for its International Antiques and Collectors Fair held on the Newark Showground.  With some 4,000 stalls, it is recognised throughout the world as the premier fair in Europe.

Just as in Medieval times, Newark is at its liveliest on market days.  There are antiques and crafts markets in the Market Place on Mondays and Thursdays.  You can also visit the auction market every Wednesday on the new Riverside Park.
