FREE SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Published:Tuesday 22 June 2010Young people looking for something to do this summer can sign up to take part in free kayaking, kick boxing, film making and more. As part of the 'Positive activities for young people' scheme run by Newark and Sherwood District Council, Connexions Nottinghamshire and Nottinghamshire County Council, young people aged 12 to 16 can try out a range of activities for free. Places are limited but anyone living in Newark and Sherwood aged between 12 and 16 can apply for a four-week programme of horse riding, DJ skills and music production, urban art, kayaking, kick boxing, laser tag, film making and ice skating. The summer programme takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. A £10 deposit is needed to secure a place but this will be refunded if the place is taken up. If someone does not attend the deposit will be lost. Spaces are limited so book now! The programme starts Monday August 2 and ends Friday August 27.
